I have read the indictments and various other filings in the Miami Companions case and the related cases. There are several confidential witnesses, several confidential informants, and many uncharged co-conspirators involved and the DOJ does have access to the client database. They also have emails exchanged and obtained the emails with a search warrant.
According to what I read in the main indictment of Gregory Carr, Laurie Carr, Nayubet Loani Swaso, and Michelle Matarazzo, federal prosecutors have also considered charging photographers, database creators and website design contractors in the case.
I also read the complaint against Fabiola Contreras (AKA Antonella) and was left with unanswered questions. The main question involves her move from escort to operations and new roommate/SO of Gregory Carr during a time when Rafael Bernabe-Caballero (AKA Marco) and Michael Porru were facing substantial counts in the Eastern District of Michigan. Somehow Bernabe-Caballero and Porru worked a plea deal that resulted in all counts against Porru being dismissed and the thirteen worst counts against Bernabe-Caballero being dismissed and managed to accomplish this feat while being held by the feds. Yup – you can call me suspicious, but then I also have other information that I cannot disclose.
According to the Fabiola Contreras complaint, she worked as an escort for Miami Companions from April 2008, entered into a relationship with Greg Carr in mid-2009, and ceased working as an escort/prostitute in November of 2009 due to the relationship. She is also charged separately, though it would have been easy to add her to the original indictment as the only count against her is money laundering. It does make it easier for an earlier arrangement to result in a dismissal of the count. The situation is further complicated by the fact that she is currently living with Greg Carr.
From what I can see, Bernabe-Caballero is in process of deportation, but ICE does not reveal such information so this is my own opinion only. If you look him up in the Inmate Locator on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website the release date is "unknown" – this makes no sense if it's not a deportation issue as he has already been sentenced for the one count that remained. I have only seen "unknown" when a defendant is awaiting sentencing or held for ICE.
Also suspicious is the fact that the Miami Companions website is still up and running and includes upcoming tour dates for a list of escorts. In my opinion it has been taken over by the feds – surely Carr would not continue to operate with all of this going on.
On that note I am finished with this topic until something serious happens with one of the involved cases. The information concerning these cases included herein is public information and is available on the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) website. One must only have a debit or credit card to open an account and have access on the same day.

how is it possible that people like belledejour can still operate and MC was arrested? Sometimes i have no clue what the feds are searching for. I am also interested what exactly is the problem with MC as opposed to the ton of other agencies advertising everywhere on the net. Does it happen to all of them? I am interested in one question answered: Escorting is legal in the USA obviously. Prostitution isn`t. But the whole blabla with "time exchanged for money" and "consenting adults" blubber does never protect the escort agency owners. so fo rme being an european loving to make vacations in the USA it is incomprehensible one thing: Cosidering i was some owner of escort agency pay my taxes correct do not ever talk about sex in exchange for money, can i still get arrested if some chick has sex for money and i dont know about it?
It seems to me that all this is about the taxes in the first place. Because if it was about prostitutio charges - hell yeah - bust eros advertisers on a daily bases. I mean sorry can it get any more graphic? and all those wannabe luxury entertainers- ha- i am sure they don`t even know how to spell the word taxes. So what i wan tto know is why certain people get busted and others don`t. Thanks in advance and sorry for posting anonymous. Oh hell yes. Welcome to America. They put me through living hell and a 2-week trial and there was NO EVIDENCE of any conversation concerning sex for money with any escort, any client, or any agent. Nothing recorded on audio or videa anywhere. They had some dirtbag bimbo that owned her own escort services make it all up for them. The word of a dirtbag - that is all it really takes.
In the case of MC, they were in contact with one Rafael Bernabe-Caballero -- a dirtbag that owned his own business. For the scum that he is he managed to get out of some hefty charges for setting-up MC, and of course he had a bit of help.

Thanks for your answer. That is sad to hear! I assume it is easy to have enemies in such a business especially if it is successful. But as far as i read the story, you won your trial! I wish you all the best for your life and i love reading your blog! Keep up the great work! On the other hand i have to say from a perspective of a european - even if this is unfair for agency owners - it is better to be an independent provider and have a situation similar to Canada, because organising prostitution like it is the case in europe is very very bad for the women.its mostly men and owners benefitting and women mostly do not have much say on how the work is proceeded. so - if you look at it from the bright side, women earn more respect as indepentents. I wish for a world where everyone is their own boss and the platforms available in the USA (so i hear - i never worked there ;-) ..) is much more independent friendly. Here in europe the advertisement options are so crazy expensive that ONLY brothel owners and whatnot can even afford them.
